Document checklists
The single biggest cause of delay we see isn't the process itself — it's starting a filing before the paperwork behind it is ready. These are the documents worth gathering before you begin, organised by what you're trying to get done. Every project is different, so treat this as a starting checklist, not an exhaustive list — we'll confirm exactly what your case needs once you tell us about it.
For a DPR (Detailed Project Report)
A DPR is only as bankable as the numbers behind it. Having these ready before you start cuts most of the back-and-forth:
- Promoter KYC — PAN, Aadhaar, and category certificate if claiming SC/ST/Women/PwD reserved-category rates
- Land/shed documents — sale deed, lease deed, or allotment letter, plus a layout sketch if available
- Machinery quotations from suppliers, itemised (this drives the Cost of Project and depreciation schedule)
- Any existing bank sanction letter or in-principle approval, if a loan is already partly discussed
- Raw material and finished-product pricing you're working with, even if approximate
- Manpower plan — how many people, what roles, what wages
For MSME/Udyam registration and a subsidy claim
Udyam registration itself is a same-day, self-declared online filing. A subsidy claim afterward needs more:
- Udyam Registration Certificate (or the details to generate one — Aadhaar-linked, PAN, and GSTIN if applicable)
- Proof of commercial production — a Chartered Engineer's certificate or equivalent, since Capital Investment Subsidy is claimed post-production, not before
- Machinery purchase invoices and payment proof (bank statements, not just the invoice)
- Land/building ownership or lease proof for the unit
- Bank account details for disbursement, and the term-loan sanction letter if the project used bank finance
For business incorporation (LLP / Pvt Ltd / Partnership)
Every route needs identity and address proof for each promoter, plus proof of the registered office:
- PAN and Aadhaar for every partner/director
- A recent utility bill or bank statement (address proof, usually under 2 months old)
- Passport-size photograph of each partner/director
- Registered office proof — a rent/lease agreement plus a No-Objection Certificate from the owner, or a sale deed if owned
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for each partner/director, if not already held
- For Private Limited specifically: a proposed name (checked for availability) and the intended share capital split
For a DIC / GO SWIFT filing
The Combined Application Form on GO SWIFT pulls from whichever specific clearances your project needs, but commonly asks for:
- Project report or DPR (the same document used for the bank loan and subsidy claim)
- Land ownership/lease documents and, if IDCO land is involved, the allotment letter
- Udyam Registration Certificate
- Consent-to-Establish from the State Pollution Control Board, if your activity requires it
- PAN, and GSTIN if already registered
Not sure which of these applies to you, or want a second pair of eyes on what you've already gathered?
