Food Processing

Food processing is Odisha's highest-volume DPR category — from cashew and dairy to spices, beverages and packaged foods. Most activities route to the Food Processing Policy 2022, which pays more than the general MSME Policy at every investment level for a genuine food-processing activity. A few specific activities (rice/flour milling, packaged water, edible oils) carry thresholds or exclusions worth checking before you assume eligibility.

Agro and Food Processing

₹15 lakh – ₹2 crore (typical)

Route to the Food Processing Policy 2022 (30–35% Capital Investment Subsidy, cap ₹3.5cr/₹4cr) rather than the MSME Policy — it pays more at every level for a genuine food-processing activity. PMFME adds a 35% credit-linked subsidy up to ₹10 lakh for individual micro units.
